What Is The Range Of A Long Range Nuclear Missile?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

I don't think that there is a standard definition. Basically in common use, it means a missile that can get out of one's own country and even region.  One that changes the world balance of power.

Pakistan has "long range" nuclear missiles that can go up to 2000 km away.

India has "long range" missiles that can go up to 1800 miles.

The worry is that North Korea will develop intercontinental missiles (that can strike US territory).

By comparison, France has missiles that can travel 6,000 km.  Russia has missiles that can travel up to 10,000 km.  US Minuteman have a range up to 9,000 km, Britain's Trident missiles can go up to 12,000 km.  China has an array of nuclear missiles, that can land up to 13,000 km away from launch.
