The word origin is defined as the beginning of something or the place where something originates from or the place from where it springs into being. Origin is also the word which is used to define the properties which is attributable to a person's ancestry. An event which precedes or occurs at the beginning of or before another event or sequence of events is known as the origin. It is the first part or stage of subsequent events.

The origin of a system of co-ordinates is the point of intersection of co-ordinate axes on a graph. It is the point where the x-axis and the y-axis of the graph, or the vertical axis and the horizontal axis of the graph respectively intersect each other. The values of the co-ordinates at the points of origin are both zero. The word origin also means the lineage or the descendants of an individual.

You guys are idiots. Why don't you just look it up in your math book or on dictionary.com? By the way, it's the middle point in the graph. You know, where the x and y axes meet. (and yes, axes is spelled correctly. It is the plural form of axis and is pronounced axe-ies)
