How Many Carbon Atomsare There In 3g Of Carbon?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

    Moles = mass in the sample / molar mass

    Mass of carbon = 3 grams

    Molar mass of carbon = 12. 01 grams per mole

    Moles = 3 / 12.01

    Moles = 0.25

    Number of atoms or particles in one mole of a substance = 6.022 x 10^23

    Number of atoms in 0.25 moles of carbon = 0.25 x 6.022 x 10^23

    Number of atoms in 0.25 moles of carbon = 1.506 x 10^23
