What Does Organ Mean To A Newspaper?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

An organ is defined as a newspaper, magazine or any other means of communication and dissemination of information, thoughts or opinions. The organ usually communicates and disseminates information, thoughts or opinions on behalf of some organisation, political party, etc. It is also known as the mouthpiece of the organisation it represents.

It is usually a publication or journal that acts as the inanimate spokesperson for the party it represents. A person, usually the one who heads the party, is appointed as the editor of the party organ and he or she puts forth his or her views in his or her featured column in the organ of the organisation, which is known as the editorial.

The periodical is published by a group which has a particular interest and is brought out to spread information about their common interest. In other words, the people who bring out the organs of various organisations are the members of special interest groups.
