How Do You Find The Length Of The Base Of A Trapezoid And What Would Be The Equation?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

    One way to find the length of the base of a trapezoid is to lay it against a ruler and measure it.

    You can calculate the length of the base of a trapezoid in a number of ways, depending on the information you are given.

    If you are given the perimeter and the lengths of the other 3 sides, then
    Base = perimeter - (sum of the lengths of the other 3 sides)

    If you are given the area, the height, and the other base, then
    Base = 2*(area/height) - (other base)

    If you are given some relationship between the two bases and the height or area or both, then the equation depends on the relationship you are given.
