How Do You Move Out By 18?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

In the United States of America, the minimum legal age at which a person can move out of your parents' home and live on your own depends on which state you live in. In some states of the United States of America, a teenager is not permitted to move out of the home of his or her parents before his or her 18th birthday, while other states are more lenient in terms of the law and permit teenagers to move out when they are just 16 or 17 years old.

According to the census of population which was conducted in the United States of America in the year 2002, the answer to the question what is the percentage of children who move out of the homes of their parents before or at the age of eighteen years is approximately eight percent. The main reason why the number of children who move out of the homes of their parents before or at the age of eighteen years is not higher than eight per cent is that they find it difficult to earn enough money to live on their own without acquiring either a high school diploma or GED.

I never heard that this "act" of moving-out was legal or not. How do you enforce this, or how do you stop one from leaving? Anyone can skip-out regardless of age; I think the real question/point here is will this person be considered a runaway or a target of "Amber" alert search!
