This day and age anything you do on the web, hopping, booking a hotel room, it remains one of the ways that we validate ourselves as far as age, SS, etc. One does not have to have credit card if you intend pay all in cash and not leave a paper trail, or electronic trail that is. It is probably best to obtain a "debit card" which you can use as a "credit card" but your expenditures are limited to how much you have in the bank. A banking or checking account is also a valuable thing; then you can obtain a debit card from your bank and usually use it with no service fees on your end.

It is advantageous to have a credit card ..but today people are getting themselves in financial trouble with these cards
