A website is a collection of web pages, videos, information, articles or images that is hosted on one or more web servers. This is usually accessed via the internet or a LAN using devices such as computers, laptops or PDAs.

A search engine is a way to retrieve information on a computer system. Search engines are used to minimise the amount of time to find information. The most "popular" form of a search engine is a web search engine which is used to find websites which make up the world wide web.

A search site is just like Google, you type in what you want to find and it finds it for you. It comes up with thousands of websites that you may want to use to find out what you were looking for.
A website is a homepage, e.g free webs or bebo.

E.g yahoo, Altavista, Google are all types of search engines whereas a website is a collection of webpages, images, videos etc that is hosted on a web server and is accessible via the internet.
