Who Was 'Count Von Count' Based On?

'Count von Count' also know as 'Simply Count' is one of the Muppet Characters who appears on The Sesame Street. Jerry Nelson performs the role of Simply Count.

Count is a vampire and the character is modeled on Dracula. The main idea of Count is to teach small children simple math's concepts mainly counting. Count has an obsessive love for counting he will count anything regardless of the fact that how much annoyance he is causing to other Muppets. After completing a counting session, Count would usually laugh like a maniac and lightning and thunderstorms were flashed. But this process was stopped as it would scare the children who were watching the show. Count is quiet different from other Dracula's he enjoys being in sunlight, does not suck blood, sleeps in an old castle rather than sleeping in a coffin and never turns into a bat. He is more human than a vampire.
