What's The Difference Between The Navy And The Military?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The Navy is generally a branch of a military force, not a separate entity. Many nations have distinct military branches such as Army, Navy, and Airforce, which then have their own subdivisions e.g. Armoured, infantry, marines, submarines, bombers, interceptors.

Some nations, such as Canada, have amalgamated forces. While having distinct names, equipment and ranks, all military elements fall under the moniker "Canadian Forces".
