On wood the first thing you'll want to do is remove the finish. Then it's just like putting tile on the floor. Choose your layout or design, spread your adhessive ( just enough for a few tiles at a time). Set your tiles, press down firm but keep them straight, apply your spacers and repeat until your done. Once you've allowed the recommended time for glue to set up because your putting them on furniture you will want to knock down sharp edges and corners. I would try a rough grit sandpaper or a metal file. Go slow and easy with this to keep everything uniform and until you find something that works good. Then grout it and done.

Depending on where you stop your tile, flush with the edge of the furniture or in-set go slow when grouting the edge so you come out with a clean line.Good luck with your project.
