Yes It is absolutely normal because new dog mothers are usually very
protective and nervous about their puppies. For this reason, many will not leave their puppies alone for up to week and might not even leave outside to urinate. They might even not move for food or water for first week. So, you need to make sure food and water is kept nearby and make sure no strangers(for her) tease her or touch her puppies without making her feel comfortable.
