The Glen of Imaal Terrier is a medium-sized breed of dog that is native to Ireland. It belongs to the group of terriers. An average full-grown Glen of Imaal Terrier weighs upto a maximum of 35 pounds (about 16 kilograms) and is only about 14 inches (approximately 35.5 centimetres) tall. The fur on its coat is medium-length and has a harsh texture. It can be wheaten or brindle blue in colour. It is a hunting dog. The Glen of Imaal terrier was named after the Glen of Imaal area in the county of Wicklow in Ireland. It has been used in fox and badger hunting expeditions for years.

Glens are also highly prey-driven, and have played a major role in reducing the population of rats in and around people's homes and in their barns. It is normally a docile breed, but can be aggressive at times due to their background in hunting.
