There are some shops in the United States of America that sell goods of everyday use for less than a dollar. After the tremendous success of one-dollar stores in the United States of America, such stores have opened up in other countries as well. In the developing countries of the world such as India, there are shops (which are colloquially called dollar shops) which sell goods in the local unit of currency (for instance, in Indian rupees) at a price which is equivalent to one United States dollar.

The products that are commonly sold for less than one dollar in the United States of America and for the equivalent of one United States dollar in the local currencies of the other countries of the world are key-ring pendants, mobile phone pendants, costume jewellery (which is also known as imitation jewellery or trinkets), decoration arts and crafts, fabric plush toys, box and bag and ornaments that are worn by women in their hair.
