Check the TSA website. Here's some general info:
If you're to travel domestically, allow at least 1.5 hrs before your flight
If it's international, allow 2-3 hrs.
Check with your airline regarding Passport requirements if international
You will need a picture ID and your ticket
You are limited to the number of bags you can carry on: (1 personal - ie purse or laptop and one carry on
If you check bags, you are limited to the number, and there are weight restrictions
You can carry on liquids or gels, but check the TSA website for the rules (onces, size, etc).
You will be asked to remove your coat and shoes
