    Poda is a suffix which means "foot". Shrimp,barnacles and lobsters due to the structure of their bodies are placed in the phylum Arthropoda. Arthro means jointed, and poda means foot; implying, "jointed foot." The phylum "amphipoda" refer to shrimp-like creatures. Amphi' implies 'both' and 'poda' implies 'feet.' It means creatures which come under the phylum of Amphipoda uses both of their feet for swimming and walking. The suffix "poda" comes from the Greek word which means foot.

    Poda is a suffix used to refer to the base of a structure, for instance. " brachypoda, "short-footed;" eriopoda, "woolly-footed; leptopoda, "slender-footed," etc. A suffix is an element of the word which is placed after the root. The suffix alters the meaning of the word and its function as well.
