How To Change A Oil Pan Gasket In A 1997 Dodge Ram 1500?

    First drain the oil, second remove the exhaust Y pipe to allow easier access to the bolts under the front part of engine, third once the pan is removed use a putty knife to remove all of the old gasket,, when reinstalling the pan it is help to use some r t f silicone to help hold the gasket in place until you can get the corner bolts started once thats done the put in all the other bolts tighten in a clock wise according to torque specs,, if you need to know what they should be torqued to then leave me a message in my shout box

    Im gonna replace the oil pan gasket in my 1997 dodge 1500 5.9l v8 i have heard rumors that you have to lift the motor up to properly remove the gasket is this true?
