How Do You Make Shrimp Batter?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Batter is used for deep frying various sorts of foods. In the case of shrimps you can use the following ingredients to make a nice batter. You will require a cup of white flour, half a teaspoon of salt, half a teaspoon of sugar, one whole egg, a cup of three parts water and one part milk and vegetable oil of around two tablespoons. You can use a whisk and a bowl in which you mix all the ingredients and beat them to uniformity. All you now need is a deep dish to heat the oil in. Once the oil is hot enough dip the shrimps in the batter and fry away. An alternate recipe involves half a cup of flour, half a cup of buttermilk and cornbread mix, half a teaspoon of each baking soda, cream of tartar, paprika, sugar and salt, and a quarter teaspoon each of garlic powder, onion powder and seltzer water.
