You have heard that nursing is not a very bright career. I must tell you that somebody has misguided you in this matter. Nursing is one of the very old professions of the world. No exact time for the start of the nursing is available. There are evidences of this profession even in the era of B.C. Taking about the modern era I want to tell you about some great achievements in nursing career.

In 2002, The Nursing and Midwifery Council takes over from the UKCC as the UK's regulatory body.In year 1999, Chicago state university elected a black nurse Elnora D. Daniel as its president. She is the first black nurse elected president of a major university.
In year 1992, Diana Wilson was elected to the U.S Congress. She was the first nurse elected to U.S. Congress.

In year 1990, may 12th was declared the official Nursing Day in Japan. This date was selected due to the birthday of Florence Nightingale.
These are very few achievements from a very long list of bright career of nursing. These achievements tell us clearly that nursing career is also a very bright career like other careers. The real thing is hard work and dedication which can lift your career sky high.

HAHAHA!  Nursing is the one career that you can bet the farm on (oh yeah, definitely brighter than farming).  There are many career tracks for nurses as well as schedule options.  The future for nursing is bright - you don't think that suddenly, all illness will be wiped from the planet and everyone will live healthily to the ripe old age of 120, when they will peacefully just drift off into eternal sleep?!  If only we could get paid what we're worth, but I guess $32 an hour isn't too bad for a 2 year degree.

That could not be further from the truth.... Our country is in dire need for nurses and the demand for trained, competent nurses will continue to increase as our population ages.
