Amidst a plethora of cynicism and the piling heap of bad news and omens (including the uncertainty regarding the war in Iraq, the lack of support from the Democratic legislators and most recently the departure of Tony Blair, who was Bush's favourite and strongest war ally), the Bush administration finally sought a ray of hope in the tenebrous shadows of doom. In the past week talks about an immigration overhaul were being carried out in the legislative circles of the United States. Finally the Bush administration managed to strike a deal with a bipartisan group of senators. This deal has ignited hopes for the Bush administration as well as the people of the United States that eventually there would be noteworthy for Bush to speak about in his second four-year term as President of the United States. The Bush administration translated the deal for its people as well as for the international community as a significant solution to the long-dragging immigration problem. Nevertheless this single act of achievement would not be able to eclipse the gloom of destruction and disapproval that the Bush administration has scored the highest points in during the second term of the President.
