    Yes. Freelancers often provide work for more than one company. If you do provide work for a number of companies, then it is advisable to be organised and make a list of all the companies you work for and who owes you payment.

    You will need to produce invoices for each company that you work for, so perhaps you could add an invoice number to the invoice to help you keep track of which companies you are providing work for.

    Freelance writers may provide work for more than one magazine, or freelance illustrators may illustrate more than one book. Freelancers also provide work for individuals, as well as companies. For example, someone who is a freelance proofreader may proofread a novel that is to be self-published, whilst also providing work for a publishing house.
