While visiting a friend A TRUE CATLOVER who knows I am afraid....she SAID her cat does not like visitors and he runs and HIDES from visitors........HOWEVER with me he wants to get into my lap or be petted. Almost every house where there is a cat it will find me!

They like dogs and other highly domesticated animals have over time developed a kind of 6th sense i guess and so have we with them.
The cats in particular may feel a sense of trust and safety with you, and you may smell good/friendly to them.
I'm a huge cat person and have the same situation with other cats, depends on how skittish they are around other people they don't recognize. Cat's can actually tell people apart based on smell, hearing (they can recognize voice patterns) and to a lesser extent sight.

It must be some six sense because we use to have a cat named Boris who was a yellow tabby and very friendly cat. When we had company, he would ALWAYS pick the lap of the person who hated or was afraid of cats! It never failed. He didn't want to hurt them, he just wanted to take a nap on their laps! lol

O Heck yes they have sixth sense. They r of the devil lol. I think they have sense of humor and like to get laughs by "f'n" with us. I'm extremely allergic so they always jump on me and rub their tails on my nose or rub up on my clothes. Its their entertainment i think. Really what would you do if you had nothing else to do ?????
