How About Making Two Debate Sections?
There has been an awful lot of debate about debates lately, and what is and is not a real debate. Well, what do you think about having a "fun debate" section and a "serious debate" section? I enjoy using the debate forum and it does not bother me when people want to ask a question and get opinions. You seem to get more responses from debates than just questions. Some people are very serious about debating properly and should have there own "serious debate section".

I think the introduction of the discussion and opinion forum that Blurtit is working on and will be introducing will help separate forums so that fun can be enjoyed on both sides of the "fun" field. Debate is such a specific format that it sometimes interferes with the sharing of pure opinion we would all like to express without the "debate" constraints of reasoning and support. Sometimes an opinion is just an opinion, and we would like to share it, or we just wish to discuss something rather than debate it. I am looking forward to a forum where we can do that freely, and still have the fun of debate.

How are the new debaters suppose to learn if they can not debate or discuss issues with younger or older people?if they have not debated before? Yes.Why can't you do both?

Are you saying that blurters should be more helpful to teach people how to debate instead of getting mad about it and wanting a different section for serious debates?
The point that some of us make is that there is a separate place for everything. A debate is for each participant to support or oppose a given statement. Each side tries to win over the other side by offering facts or reasoning. This way we can see differing points of view and hopefully learn from it. If you want a solution to a problem, or an opinion, then you should post a Question. If you just want to chat about some specific topics, or just to have fun, you go to the different Groups.
Each type of activity has its own guidelines and format, so that it is easier for all of us to choose. If you insist on asking questions in a debate, then you will have disrupted its proper functioning.
A debate is for serious people in thoughtful discussion. A "fun debate" should be conducted in the Groups setting. People get annoyed when questions are posted as they waste everyone's time.

I understand why people get upset, I am not saying they are wrong to feel that way. All I am saying is that the format of the debate section seems to get more responses than questions or group sections do. Do you know what I mean? That is why people want to post questions in the debate section.
I see your point. It's like people wanting to talk in a movie theater. It disturbs others, but it's enjoyable nonetheless.
