Laser eye surgery is a fairly new procedure which aims to correct a patient's eye sight. It can be expensive, though thousands of people who have undergone the treatment swear by it.
Its main advantage is that Laser eye surgery replaces the need for contact lenses and glasses. The surgery is used to correct three main types of vision problems which are short sightedness, far sightedness and distorted vision. It works by the surgeon changing the shape of the cornea, though the procedure itself varies depending on which type of laser eye surgery you are having.
There are two main types of surgery which are PRK and LASIK. PRK surgery involves a laser beam which is guided by a computer and it vaporizes the tissue on the surface of the cornea. This type of laser eye surgery only removes just enough tissue to reshape the cornea.
LASIK laser eye surgery is a lot more complicated than PRK surgery. It mainly focuses on taking tissue from the inside layers of the cornea rather than the surface. To do this the surgeon cuts a flap in the cornea, lifts it up and users a laser beam to remove a fair amount of the tissue in the inside layers. The eye heals quickly by itself after the operation and there is usually no pain associated with the surgery.
Overall if you have the money this is a low risk surgery which can really change your life for the better.

Basically, a laser is used to correct the vision in the eyes, and I guess is a good way to have them done. Hope this helps.
