How Will The Modern Periodic Table Be Disturbed If Isotopes Of An Element Is Discovered Now?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The atoms of the same element having same atomic number but different atomic masses are called isotopes. Isotopes are different from each other because of the difference in the number of neutrons. If isotope of an element is discovered now, it will not disturb the arrangement of the elements in the periodic table. Because in periodic table elements are arranged according to the ascending order of atomic numbers. The arrangement of periodic table does not has concern with number of neutrons of an element.

In periodic table elements are classified in groups and periods. The elements present in the same group has same properties. The elements present in the same period has same number of electronic shells.
