Wash it daily and dry it for at least 20 minutes will kill the live lice.  Bag all toys and stuffed animals for 2 weeks.  Vacuum, vacuum, vacuum.  There is a spray you can buy to spray every where for a few weeks.  The nix shampoo is the best to use.  Then repeat in seven to ten days.  They are hard to get rid of.  One can usually go back to school or work after they have been treated.  There are home remedies like mayo and peanut butter but they don't work well.  Tea tree oil a few drops in a spray bottle with water and spray every thing all the time and add some to your shampoo.  Will keep them a way.  You can use a dandruff shampoo and conditioner like Head and Shoulders.  Others have a lot of alcohol and cause severe dandruff.  Lice are awful but they do go away in time.  Tea tree oil is the best.  Lice like clean heads.  They hide behind the ears and under the hair most.  Make sure you wash your pillows too.
