    Clay Aiken is a well-known pop singer from Raleigh, North Carolina who shot to fame after appearing on the television series American Idol in the year 2003.

    He was offered a recording contract in the year 2003 by RCA Records after which he launched his debut album Measure of Man. On the basis of the album sales, it was determined that he was most thriving second placed finisher in the history of the show. Television audience first noticed Aiken during the audition episodes of the second season of American Idol. The judge's of the show initially thought off Aiken to be the nerdy types who was not fit enough to be any kind of idol, but they were instantly impressed after he started performing Heatwave's "Always and Forever".
