What Should I Do To Help My Cat?

I have a cat that is 11 years old (in human years) and when he tries to meow, his voice comes out sore and scratchy. Do you think he has a cold or something? Also, he's been acting very tired a couple days ago. Can you help me figure out what is wrong and if you do, figure out ways to help him?

There are many things that may be causing the change in vocalization and lethargy.  Feline upper respiratory complex is common in indoor/outdoor cats or if a new cat has been added to the household.  If this cat is strictly indoor only infectious disease is unlikely.
If your cat is experiencing any oral pain this could cause a change in vocalization--ie tooth root abscess, oral mass, or trauma.
In any middle aged cat with behavioral changes or other concerns I worry about Hyperthyroidism (this can cause a change in vocalization and behavior), kidney disease, liver disease, diabetes, and cancer.
Cats need yearly checkups and bloodwork (after the age of 8 years) to screen for these diseases.  Your veterinarian will help determine the underlying cause and help treat your cat!
