The green houses are a result of the green house effect. It is a term referred to a natural phenomenon of global warming. The sun emits energy in form of UV (Ultra violet) rays. 25% of them get absorbed by the atmosphere and 25% of these invisible rays get reflected by the clouds into the outer space. Remaining 50% UV radiations strike the earth and get absorbed by it. When the earth emits those radiations back, they are no more in the form of UV rays, but are transformed into IR (infrared) radiations. Now the green house gases absorb IR radiations and atmosphere does not let them go out to the space. All this phenomenon leads to trapping of heat inside the earth atmosphere, thus increasing the temperature of the earth.Water vapor, CO2, CH4 and nitrous oxide are the examples of green house gases.

There are the Natural Gases! That Mother Nature has been handling for many Millions of years!!!!
Then there are the Gases the WE have introduced, and the majority of these (not all) come from the use of Fossil Fuels of every kind!

Green houses came from CFC's or chlorofluorocarbon which came from refrigerators and sprays. This can also be found in styrofoams and hair sprays ^^

A green house is a structure built to maintain a set temperature and humidity to grow plants in.  It usually is made of some kind of frame work such as wood or  steel pipe or aluminum pipe.  It will have a clear covering of either glass or clear plastic to allow the sun to enter.  The sun rays warm up the interior of the green house and the covering holds the heated air in.  In severe climates during the winter months an artificial heat source of some kind is used to provide heat when the sun isn't shining.
