Does The 2005 Chevy Malibu Have An Air Filter And If So Where Is It?
We are going on a road trip and I want to do what I can to maximize fuel efficiency. The car has 110,000 miles on it and the manual says the only maintenance it needs is oil change, tire rotation and maybe spark plugs and wires. It is not missing or anything. We have never changed the air filter and I am not sure there is one.

You should probably change it. I am having a fuel efficiency problem with mine as well. It is at 60k miles and my uncle, a mechanic at a Cheverolet dealership, said that if I haven't changed the air filter since I bought the car then it is probably about 30k miles past due. You can get one at O'Reilly's for about $20.00. Hope this helps.
