Gay marriages should be allowed all over the US for multiple reasons. One being that when the founding fathers signed the declaration of Independence they made the decision that the church had to much power so they separated church from state. As of now, they two only seem to be combined when it comes to marriage. Despite what most people believe you do not need the church to get married only the state, a judge can marry you and all you need is a marriage license that you buy from the state not the church the same piece of paper that you need when being married by the church. The thought that people are forced to live my a book that not everyone believes or follows is not fair.
Many people say that same sex marriages shouldn't be allowed because it is against the "sanctity of marriage". A "sanctity" that has a 50% divorce rate in all couples that will be married. When looking at this high number of failing marriages being one out of two it doesn't really seem like a man and woman marriage is considered to be all that sacred. Those that do manage to continue their marriage say that it is a wonderful experience and that they wouldn't give it up for the world. Why should a group of people not be allow to have that kind of happiness because of a religion's view. It is not fair nor does it make any sense.
Laws are made to protect the people as was the Constitution. By having this law against gay couples it is actually defining the Constitution. The Declaration of Independence states "with certain inalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." By denying a gay marriages the government is essentially denying gay couples their "pursuit of happiness". Getting married would not hurt or harm the nation in any way, it would simply allow people to be who they are and with whom they love.
They only reason they cannot be married throughout the US is being of people stating that it is against God's will.  So here's a question to the religious people, why would God create a gay man if he was against his creation's life style? Can't come up with an answer can you, because if God did in fact create man and if all men are his children and we are all brothers and sisters why is it that they should be punished for something that the great creator did to them?  As for those of you who do not believe in God but still do not condone gay marriages, think back to (again) the Constitution, "all men are created equal", if that is true then all men (and women) regardless of who they choose to sleep with and love should be able to do the same thing and should be entitled to the same things. So essentially if one man wants to marry another man and one man wants to marry a woman both men should be seen as equals and should be able to stand at the alter and profess their love to whomever they choose.
Isn't that suppose to be what marriage is all about anyway? Two people being so in love that they want to share the rest of their lives together? Why should anyone be denied that?

A marriage should be between a man and a woman.  In Leviticus it says that we should not practice homosexuality, it is a detestable sin.  Paul says that those who do wrong will have no share in the Kingdom of God.  Those who indulge in sexual sin, who are idol worshipers, adulterers, male prostitutes, homosexuals etc., - none of these will have a share in the Kingdom of God.  A few minutes of sinful pleasure against an eternity of separation from God is a high price to pay. That is the Biblical teaching.

On a more personal level, I see it as something that is going to hit my pocket book in a very negative way. Example:  Company survivor benefits would be paid to the "married" survivor of a homosexual marriage and that money would come out of the company life insurance fund that is often subsidized by the company.  Insurance that would normally be paid individually by 2 separate people at a higher rate would now be drastically reduced because of the "marriage" of the homosexuals.  If insurance payments to the insurance companies were reduced substantially then they would no doubt increase the premiums on all policy holders (my pocket book would be hit again).  There is a tax break for married couples that would have an effect on the finances available to our government.  If loss of income to our government were large enough (and I believe it would be), my personal taxes would increase to make up the difference.  Personally, I can't afford to pay the price of 2 immoral people to be married.  I know using that word is going to offend some people but it is factual, they are immoral and I don't think I should have to pay the price to validate an immoral union.

So what you're saying is that everyone who doesn't believe in your God is immoral. Well I hate to break it to you honey but you have just broken your God's words so you might want to take a better look at that bible of yours. The bible states "Do not judge and criticize and condemn others, so that you may not be judged and criticized and condemned yourselves." Matthew 7:1-2. You are judging people by their life choice...against the bible.

Also you money issue is agaisnt the bible as well by showing that you are committing one of the seven deadly sins...greed. Money shouldn't be used as an excuse against gay marriages if your excuse to them not being able to be married because you want more cash then no one should be allowed to get married because even if straight people are wed you have to pay. Meaning that if you are married or have ever gone to a wedding and not objected that you are a hypocrite to your own defense.

I only wrote what is in the Bible. It is your choice to believe the word of God or not. We will all be judged, yes, me also. I have never implied that I am perfect...far from it. You asked the question & I answered. Simple as that. I have always contended that my answers may not be what you want to hear but they will be factual and honest as I can make them. You may not agree and obviously don't but it is fact nevertheless. Believe the Bible or not...your choice.
