Is It Really Safer To Fly Than To Drive?

Is it safer to fly or drive?

It is definitely safer to fly... Just by the fact that it takes you far less time to reach your destination, thus eliminating the chance for fatigue. When I drive home for a visit (1000 miles away) it takes me 18 hours, I have to be up by 4 am to be on the road by 6. That gets me to Michigan at Midnight... Providing I'm not too tired and need to stop for a nap. When I fly, I'm there in 5 hours.
Out of the top 25 airlines, your odds of dying in an airplane crash are 1: 10.46 MILLION According to the National Safety Council, your odds in dying in an automobile crash are 1:84

      Yea, exactly.

You can have many car crashes and have nothing wrong with you.  You crash in a plane and your ass is dead.   How is that safer?
