    Nottingham is a well known city located in the East Midland region of England. The Old Market Square is said to be the main hub of the Nottingham City centre, where major revamping was completed in March 2007.

    As of the year 2005, the total population of this region was said to be 275,100, having an average population density of 3,735 per square kilometer. The census report of 2001 stated that the total area of this region was 74.61 square kilometres.  The headquarters of many well known companies is located in Nottingham.

    Nottingham was initially known as "Tigguo Cobauc" meaning "a place of cavy dwelling". Nottingham was founded during the 600 AD by Anglo-Saxon invaders. During the 9th century Nottingham was conquered by the Danes and became one of the five municipalities of Danelaw.
