How Do I Stop Car From Overheating?

How do I stop a 1998 Lincoln continental from over heating? I have replaced the thermostat and oil change now battry light ant still over heats?

    drain and flush the radiator.  when adding coolant ..most cars are set up for a 50 \ 50 mix.  i have a deisel, but what i do because i do alot of hauling, i put 1\3 mix in.  2 part antifreeze 1 part water.  if this doesn't work a suggest getting a performance water pump that will follow more volume, or get a bigger cooling fan.

      depending on how the engine sits in relation to rad, the system may have a bleeder valve to release air pockets if the top hose on the engine side is higher than at the rad may just have air pocket
