How Can I Interpret The Results Of The Body Mass Index?
Answers
There are two types of the calculation which can be used in order to measure the body mass index one is the metric calculation and the other is imperial calculation. The metric calculation uses the weight of a person in kilogram which is divided by the height in the meter. However the imperial calculation weight is measure in pound which is divided by the height in inches so there is a difference between the both calculations.
So when a body mass index is calculated for any person it is easy to find that in which category the person fall. There are different categories including starvation, underweight, normal weight, overweight, obesity and morbidly obese. So these are the categories which are used to associate a certain characteristic to a person.
According to the standard each category has some attributes which are found in the people according to their body mass index. For example if the body mass index of the person fall in the range of 18.5 that means that the person has control his diet and they do not use many quantities of the fats in order to become healthy and fit. So these results can be taken if the person body mass index is in the range of 18.5.
