Gravy basically is a thickened sauce, generally created from a base of extracts which run from meat or vegetable during cooking.
For every cup of gravy that you want to create you will require, two tablespoons of fat, two tablespoons of flour and one cup of liquid. There are quiet a few different ways using which you can create gravy. After meat has been cooked, extract the required amount of fat or drippings from the bottom of the pan.
Now add the flour to the gravy. Always remember that while creating gravy always add equal quantities of fat and flour, this is extremely vital hence be careful. Now blend the flour and fat well together, and place this on a stove to cook on low heat. You will need to cook this till the time flour has been cooked completely; once that is done the mixture will turn brown and start to bubble. Now add water to this mixture but make sure that no lumps are formed in the gravy. Stir well and let it cook till bubbles are formed this will indicate that the gravy has been cooked.
