In Early Spring, Which Would Heat Up More Quickly Land Or Water?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Land heats up more quickly than water, even on a daily basis. The oceans cool off slowly in the autumn, moderating the change to colder temperatures. Oceans do the reverse in the spring, warming slowly and keeping the air temperatures cooler. You can see this phenomenon by noting the temperatures on any spring day in towns near the ocean compared to towns away from the ocean. In the spring, oceanside towns are cooler, and in autumn, they are warmer.
