Pads, tampons can give you a disease(a poisonous thing, I cant remember exactly) and cause irritation.

TOXIC SHOCK SYNDROME...(NOT CLASSIFIED AS DISEASE BUT CAN CAUSE DEATH)
According to the FDA, pads are since a lot women can get toxic shock syndrome from tampons. I have never met anyone that has had it so even tho I haven't met anyone that has had it, my answer would have to say pads are safer. I imagine it has a lot to do to personal preference of the two on what you want to use.

Pads are more safe because tampons have caused toxic shock syndrome, plus they can go up to high and cause a nasty infection. Pads give your body more room to breath, so, I would think this is more natural and safer.

You just need to educated your self of the right way to used tampons not to leaven on for long period of time so it will be really a problem taking them off specially if you are a heavy flow.
