Where Is Nameless Cove?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Nameless Cove is in Canada. It is situated on the north-west coast of the Great Northern Peninsula. This area was first mapped by Captain James Cook in 1764. Today, it's a tiny community situated near the main highway between Savage Cove and Flower's Cove. Its exact location is on a point of land that's in the Straits of Belle Island and it is just 9 miles off the coast of mainland Labrador.

English fishermen began to settle in this area in the early 19th century and by 1857, there were about a dozen families. In the 1800's, Nameless Cove had families named Dempsters, Walshs, Spencers and Diamonds. These families still continue to live in Nameless Cove to this day.

The Nameless Cove community is now 90 strong. Their kids attend elementary school in Flowers Cove and the folks from Nameless Cove get most of their supplies from Flowers Cove.
