Are You Sick And Tired Of The Health Insurance Industry?

I am so tired of paying a huge premium every month, then when I have a claim, which is rare, they deny it! What is my money going towards? I think the insurance provider thinks if they keep denying claims, the patient will give up and just pay the claim themselves, thus saving the insurance company money. That is what it is all about- the almighty dollar. They know you need it so they stick it to you!

I'm sick of it too!  It's almost seems that they have more say in your health problems and needs than your Dr. Does.  Last time I checked, you didn't need a medical degree to become and insurance agent.  I say we overthrow the system!  :)

I hate health insurance. We found out after my husbands heart attack that they wouldn't pay it because they said it was a preexisting condition. What!!!!! We have dropped all insurance, why pay them to help put us further in dept by paying them for nothing!! We can at least add that money to the bill for the doctor.

I am sick of it... My job doesn't provide health insurance and based on my income I make to much money to get insurance from the state. And the state will only provide it if you have cancer or are pregnant, but you have to see a doctor to find that stuff out urgh. I just can't afford the out of pocket insurance it is rediculous and I have several preexisting conditions go figure.

we really are at the mercy of a merciless industry! i am a single mom (widowed) of 2. i have insurance, i pay for it myself as i am a stay at home mom, and the depression i have is somewhat debilitating. I pay the premiums myself, never late, never miss a payment, yet they deny every single blooming claim i submit and that does not happen that often! i am so sick and tired of insurance companies! you know if it were to be their health or a loved one's, it would sure be a different story, no doubt.

It is more complex than I used to believe. What I used to believe is that doctors demanded such high salaries and had such enormous colleges loan debts that, that was why medical insurance was so high, but that is probably a minor blip in the spiralling medical insurance costs. I think these days it is more in the insurance payouts involved in lawsuits that pushes our monthly premiums skyward. Or combinations of all that.
Until recently I had NO medical insurance and wherever I looked I could not find coverage for what I could afford. So I kept looking and I did not find affordable insurance but found a doctor that would reduce her office visits by 33% if paid at time of service, which allowed me to afford a visit which I really needed. Once I stayed with that doctor I was relieved to have someone to see when necessary. I also had to visit a Urgent Care facility once which cost me about $150 + the $100 prescription for highend antibiotics. Why so high for the presrips- I deferred getting an Xray because one alone would have cost me nearly $250. 100 vs 250- I chose the cheaper remedy but expensive pills and who knows they may have still made me take the pricey pills anyway. The choices we make with no insurance. Sorry I have no real solution for our rising insurance costs, but if you have a little time, keep looking for that doctor that may be able give a break. These days I have some insurance, small affordable monthly payments, but with high deductibles. My only savings grace is that there is accident coverage, something that always worried me.
