What Does Zhou Dynasty Mean?

Zhou Dynasty was a Chinese Dynasty that preceded the Shang Dynasty and was followed by the Qin Dynasty. It lasted longer than any other dynasty in the Chinese history.

This dynasty lasted from 1045 BC to 256 BC and it features many new developments for China. The use of iron was introduced during this time period. Apart from that the origin of native Chinese Philosophy developed during this time. The founder of Confucianism Kong Fuzi was present during this time as was the founder of Mohism, Mozi.
