 Broughton, a small district in northeast Wales is abode to the Airbus wing manufacturing factory which makes the complete Airbus range, including the new A380. Airbus wings which are manufactured in Broughton, are flown out in Airbus Beluga planes and the large A380 wings are transported by barge down the river Dee to the close by Mostyn docks.

Filton being the headquarters of Airbus UK is a wholly-owned subsidiary; with 4,500 people being employed in manufacturing, business support roles like procurement, finance and customer services.

Currently the Airbus sites at Filton, located near Bristol, Broughton and North Wales consists of the Centre of Excellence Wing. It is also accountable for the design incorporation of the gears which assist in landing and also the fuel systems.
