    Help With 6th Grader's Math Homework Even I Can't Get It. Can You Help?

    Ruth lives in a place where it rains an average of 12 days out of 90. If the weather each day is independent of the previous day's weather, what is the probability that it will not rain 3 days in a row? Round to nearest whole percent. I don't get it Help please

    First off there's a 13% chance that it will rain at all. There's an 87% chance that it wont. 12 days out of 90 it does rain, meaning the other 78 days it wont, if it doesn't rain the day before then it probably wont rain the next day, meaning it wont the next either.  That's really all I can do...their could be 26 3-day segments in the 78 days it wont rain. I don't know anymore then that, maybe it'll help. Sorry.
