    Mongolia is a landlocked country in Asia. It is bordered in by Russia in the north and China in the south. Its largest city is its capital Ulan Bator. The Mongol Empire was centred on Mongolia and in the seventeenth century it came under the Chinese. With Russian help a communist government was set up in 1911. Mongolia officially became a democratic nation in 1992.

    Sidewise Mongolia is the nineteenth largest country in the world. Its population is approximately 2.8 million people with a majority following Tibetan Buddhism. Kazakha and Tuvans also live here although most of the population is of Mongol ethnicity.

    Khakha Mongol is the language of the Mongolian people. Russian, Tuvan and khazakh languages are also spoken while English is being studied as a second language only.
