What Is The Capital Of Brazil?

Answer Question

With its huge population of 2,282,049, Brasilia is the capital of Brazil. It is one of the world's newest cities, having been inaugurated in 1960 itself to replace Rio de Janeiro as the capital ofBrazil. The Brazilian government's efforts to promote development in central Brazil prompted this move.  This seems to have worked, with the population having risen to a few million in just three decades.

The city is located in a Federal District, bordered by the Preto River on its eastern side and by the Descoberto River on its west. Brasília sits on the Planalto Central, which is a 1000 mile high plateau.
The city is famous because of its urban planning, innovative architecture and rapid population growth. The economy of the city is driven by government services, the small scale industry, construction and food services. Most of its population reside in the suburbs.
