I would like to know if its normal for chickens to eat dead chickens and if not how can I stop them.

While it may not be good for them it is common for animals to eat carrion (dead things). Keep your dogs away from the chicken coop to prevent this from happening in the future. Also patrol your yard for dead things and other foreign material that you do not want your chickens to eat. Animals are not very smart in what they choose to eat.
