If you can prove the inheritance you can get a loan on it from money now and other financers but you must prove it there are some law firms and money lenders that will give you an advance even if you lose your lawsuit or inheritance as long as you can prove it exists but their interest may be high since your credit is bad. A simpler solution have your son put off college until the money arrives as you shouldn't spend something you don't have yet.

 I have a retirement account through a past employer and cannot have access to that money until I turn 65. My son is in need of money and cannot get a loan due to bad credit - I am in the same position. Is there a way to borrow against that retirement account sooner?
