An atom is the smallest part of an element of chemical nature. It is indivisible, i.e. it cannot be further divided into smaller parts. Even though its size is minute, it retains all the original properties of the chemical element. Every atom consists of three subatomic particles, Electrons (negatively charged), Protons (positively charged) and neutrons (no charge).

A cell is a term given to one single unit which is enclosed in`side a border. Biologically, it is a unit which forms the structural basis necessary for a being to function. It is hence often referred to as "the building block of life". Organisms can be unicellular, such as amoeba, or multicellular, such as humans.

The difference between atoms and cells is that cells are living things that protect or help you and your body stay healthy. There are many different kinds of cells: Red blood cells, White blood cells, Heart muscle cells, Brain cells, Nerve cells, Animal cells, Skin cells, Plant cells, Human cells, Bone cells, Muscle cells, and Stomach cells. All these different types of cells all have different jobs like the heart muscle cell controls your heart muscle, the brain cells control the brain, your nerve cells takes electrical signals and passes them to the brain. Atoms are NOT living things they are cells made up of metal, chemicals, and particles. Atoms are just tiny little things that are in the air. These atoms are so small that you can't even see it that are smaller than 1 speck of dust. Cells and atoms are two TOTALLY different things but it's hard to get them mixed up.
