Texas has not enacted Extended Benefits at this time.  Texas state law does not permit such benefits currently.  Please contact your Texas lawmakers to change this.  For more information, please review the following content:  www.nelp.org

My research on Texas unemployment compensation (UC) yielded these results as of July 2009:  (1) 26 weeks of regular UC, plus;  (2) 20 weeks of "tier 1" extended UC, plus;  (3) 13 weeks of "tier 2" extended UC, plus;  (4) 13 weeks of "tier 3" Dept. Of Labor extended UC.

The maximum is 72 weeks of UC according to a press release by Texas Workforce Commission on 17 July 2009, media contact Ann Hatchitt.

That is ample time to find work, isn't it?
