What Is The Role Of The Maid Of Honor?

I'm having a small wedding (30 guest). I've ask my older sister which is now a widow to stand with me during the ceremony to hold my bauquet and my finanee's ring...would she be considered my maid of honor?

    The Maid of honor has a very important role as she is the party planner and organizer. Following are the responsibilities of a Maid of honor:
    - Attending the prenuptial parties
    - Address invitations and announcements
    - Entertain bridal shower for the bride.
    - Assist the bride in packing
    - Arrange reherasals
    - Arrange florists
    - Assist the bride and her maids in dressing
    - Coordination
    - Assist the bride with carrying the train
    - Hold the brides Bouquet while rings are exchanged
    - Carry the groom's ring.
    - Assist the photographer.
    - Witness and sign the marriage certificate
    - Stand in the receiving line
    - Help the couple depart with the best man

        Brides "second hand man"  Does as much as she can to relieve the pressure & stress off of the bride.
